Is someone you know deserving of a Top Gun Award?
Nominations for OCTLA’s Top Gun Awards are open now through July 31
Each year, OCTLA recognizes and honors the outstanding work achieved by our members over the past year at our annual Top Gun Awards Dinner and Charity Auction. This year’s event will be held on December 1 at the South Coast Plaza Westin Hotel.
The coveted awards are given to attorneys who have demonstrated exceptional skill in trial or binding arbitration, and/or achieved an outstanding result through settlement, appeal, or litigation that has a significant impact for a consumer, the community, or the civil justice system. These attorneys not only show courage and commitment to their clients, but also demonstrate truly exceptional skill, ability, preparation, and professionalism to obtain outstanding results on behalf of their clients.
Consideration for these awards is not limited to the size of a verdict, but may include additional factors such as length of trial, complexity of liability or damages amd the impact of the result beyond the case itself. Results can include jury verdicts, arbitration awards and bench trials. Awards may also be given for a person or person who, through media or public service, has brought awareness to an important issue of consumer rights or protection. If you or your firm has had a case or person deserving recognition, now’s the time to let us know. Nominations for OCTLA’s Top Gun Awards are being accepted through July 31, 2018.
Silent Auction benefits “Together We Rise”
At the Top Gun Gala, OCTLA will host a silent and live auction to benefit Together We Rise, a local charity whose goal is to improve the lives of children in foster care. Foster children often find themselves forgotten and neglected by the public and are shuffled from one temporary home to another. Together We Rise works with hundreds of foster agencies, social workers, CASA advocates, and other partners to bring our programs to foster youth across the nation.
The foundation has provided thousands of foster youth across the country with new bicycles to get to and from school and/or work, birthday care packages, college scholarships and “sweet cases” (duffel bags filled with essentials) so that these children do not have to travel from home to home with their belongings in a trash bag.
OCTLA is accepting donations for our silent and live auction, such as gift cards, fine wine, tickets to concerts, sporting events, plays, fun family adventures, weekend getaways, electronics, jewelry, hand-crafted items, etc. No item is too small! Please email us at OCTLA so we can arrange to have your larger items picked up from your home or office. This email address is being protected from spambots.
