Volunteers are needed for great charity events in 2025
“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
As we welcome 2025, Los Angeles and Orange County Trial Lawyers’ Charities are ready to “write it on our heart” (aka Lovey) that every day is the best day in the year.
We are already planning our activities for the next twelve months – from fundraisers to service projects – so, start marking your calendars now.
From Casino Night to Charity Roast
LATLC returns to Hollywood Roosevelt on May 31 for another incredible Casino Night. To add to the excitement, we will have a virtual poker tournament in April. The final table will be played live at Casino Night.
Our Golf Tournament is set for October 20, when we will again play at the beautiful Braemar Country Club.
OCTLC fundraisers include a Charity Roast in April with our Roastee to be named soon. Stay tuned. At the roast, we raise money for Great Tryke Giveaway with a special call-out request to fund the bikes by attendees. We are also switching things up from our traditional Beach Luau, to a Battle of the Bands and ’80s music themed party at the beach this year. Opportunities will be plentiful to have a team, participate in a team or just watch the teams battle it out while listening to some of our favorite tunes.
Volunteer projects are being planned throughout the year, starting with food distribution with LATLC’s partner, MEND (Meet Each Need With Dignity) on January 17, and ending with the fantastic Comfort & Joy set for December 6. Keep checking our website (latlc.org) for all the service opportunities.
OCTLC volunteer opportunities are still being scheduled, but we will be doing the very popular and meaningful Habitat for Humanity Build, the Superheroes 5k Run, Roll or Walk with Triumph Foundation and the Operation Holiday Homework with Boys and Girls Clubs for the holidays as well as food sorting with Second Harvest.
But the fun we have most is when OCTLC and LATLC work together on events.
The Great Tryke Giveaway
Soon we will have a date for the next GREAT TRYKE GIVEAWAY, where we provide more than 35 adaptive tricycles for children with special needs. This is an incredible morning with a parade highlighting all the new Trykers. We also assemble 1,000 toiletry kits for US Vets, a wonderful non-profit that distributes them to unhoused veterans throughout Los Angeles and Orange County
We will have a joint booth again during the CAALA convention in Las Vegas. This year we are asking attendees to help make “bookmarks” for children receiving new books at the annual Comfort & Joy holiday giveaway. We are excited to be partnering with LATLC, OCTLC and CAALA on this.
Officers for 2025
We want to welcome our newest additions to Los Angeles Trial Lawyers’ Charities – Nareg Kitsinian joins the executive committee as secretary, along with the 2025 officers: Megan Klein, president, Griselda Rodriguez, president-elect, Jeremy Tissot, vice president, and Chandra Spencer, treasurer. Our newest Board of Directors member is Mary Caruso, Wilshire Law.
OCTLC’s president Michelle West is ever grateful for the long serving board members Susan Kelley, Jonathan Dwork, Geraldine Ly, Kimberly Valentine, Shaun Phillips, Lakshmi Odedra, Neyleen Beljajev, Cynthia Craig, Jennifer Johnson, Whit Bertch, Allegra Rineer, Puneet Toor and newest additions Aaron Hicks and Atticus Wegman. Without this team, OCTLC does not exist.
Now all we need to “make every day the best day in the year” is you!
Join our volunteer projects. Support our fundraisers. Become honorary board members.
Visit our websites (LATLC.org and OCTLC.org) today and throughout the year. Write it on your heart!
